For history buffs, Sidney's Historic Downtown being the only city in Western Nebraska with the "Historic District Designation", the Fort Sidney Complex, the Sioux Army Depot with driving tours, Mud Springs Pony Express located near Dalton, Christ Episcopal Church built in 1886, Point of Rocks near Potter, Lincoln Highway with historic sights along its way from Potter to Lodgepole, and the Potter Sundry with the old-fashioned soda fountain still in use.

Must see sights and Recreation for the whole family are available. Nebraska's 1st Christmas Box Angel located in Sidney's Legion Park with a train display, a fishing pond for the young fishing enthusiast along with Nebraska's tallest flag pole at the War Memorial and the Living Memorial Gardens, and Cabela's Wildlife Display. Take a walk along the beautiful Deadwood-Sidney walking/biking trail, play a round of golf in Sidney and then another round in Potter, or test your skills at disc golf, or the new shooting range in Sidney, and then cool off with a swim. Experience Duckpin Bowling in Potter, believed to be the only functional duckpin bowling west of Mississippi.

Events for the whole family include the Official Dedication of the Pony Express National Monument, Sidney's Oktoberfest, Rod and Roll Show, Dalton Fall Festival, Lodgepole's Old Settler's Day or Czech Festival, Potter Days, Cheyenne County Fair and Rodeo, and Sidney's Gold Rush Days.
